Ibrahima Bob Ley Camara

known as Bob Ley, grown up in the neighbourhood of the famous musician family of Famoudou Konaté in Simbaya Gare in Conakry Guinea.

As a small boy he already discovered his passion for traditional Dance and he delighted the participants of Famoudous workshops with his performances.

Since 1999 he is a Dancer of Famoudou Konatés group called “Hamana Sabouyouma”.

Traditional Dances of the four different regions in Guinea Maritime Guinea, Middle Guinea, Upper Guinea and Forested Guinea he was reached and guided by Paul Soumah and Fanta Kaba, both teachers of the „Ballet africaine de Guinee”.

Since 2005 he participated as a Dancer in the NationalBallet of Guinea. He did also work as a Dance Teacher in the private Dance Academy „Ballet Foniké Culture Sembé de Guinee“ in the capital Conakry of Guinea, West Africa. There he teached students of all ages and offered workshops to tourists coming from all over the world in english, german and french.

Bob Ley got very popular because of his performances he gave on many festivities like marriages and baptisms where he got booked.

2008 he got invited together with his group to one of the biggest festivals in Gambia.

Since Mai 2013 he lives in Mannheim, Germany.

Shortly after his arriving he had an impressive dance presentation in Frankenthal Music Academy.

Further programmes he had together with Billy Konaté on several festivals and concerts. Today he works as a Senior Teacher at Music Academy in Frankenthal. He is always delighted to share his wide range of knowledge of Traditional Dance and Rhythms of Guinea, West Africa.
